What my clients say
“After a rocky first pregnancy and birth, I had Kirsti look after me and my baby postpartum. I am so grateful every day for the kindness and compassion that Kirsti showed to me during a tough time.
When I became pregnant again, I knew there was no other midwife I wanted to look after me. Kirsti was there for me throughout my entire pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period, and always went above and beyond.
I always felt listened to by Kirsti; she helped me make my voice heard and made sure that I made informed decisions regarding my care. She cared about what I wanted and how I felt. There is no other midwife I would ever want looking after me during such a life-changing time. Kirsti is truly the best of the best! Thank you, Kirsti, for everything!”

Frequently Asked Questions
What does an independent midwife do that I can’t get from an NHS midwife?
When you’re pregnant, the kind of care you receive matters deeply. You want to feel safe, listened to, and truly supported.
You do not want to feel rushed through appointments or made to feel like a number. That’s where independent midwifery can make a real difference.
When you book with an independent midwife, they work alongside you throughout your whole journey, offering calm, consistent, compassionate care tailored entirely to you.
Is this the same as private maternity care in a hospital?
Not quite. Private hospital maternity care is often consultant-led. Independent midwives offer midwife-led care, grounded in personalised, physiological birth support, with a focus on home birth and holistic support, rather than medicalised care.
I am planning a caesarean birth. Can I book just the antenatal and postnatal care?
Yes, absolutely. If you’re planning a caesarean birth, you’re very welcome to book antenatal and postnatal care with me. I’ll provide personalised support throughout your pregnancy — offering guidance, reassurance, and preparation for your birth — and continue caring for you and your baby once your baby has arrived. While I wouldn’t be present for the birth itself, you’ll still benefit from the continuity and calm support before and after, with someone who knows your story and your hopes. The cost of your package would be thoughtfully reduced to reflect that birth attendance isn’t included, while still offering the same level of care and attention during pregnancy and postnatal recovery.
Can I still give birth in hospital if I choose an independent midwife?
Yes. You can choose to birth at home or in a hospital. Some families want the continuity of a known midwife even if they choose a hospital birth. Independent midwives can offer antenatal and postnatal care even if you birth with the NHS.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes, you can pay in installments.
I require a 20% non-refundable booking fee to secure the ‘on call ‘period from 37 weeks of gestation until your baby is born.
The installments can be made monthly or at a schedule agreed between us, with the balance completed by the end of the 36th week of pregnancy.
What happens if I need to transfer to hospital during labour?
I’ll accompany you, offering continuity and support alongside the hospital team, wherever possible. My role is to advocate for you and provide reassurance, even if care transfers.

What my clients say
“I first met with Kirsti several years ago whilst receiving NHS midwifery care during my twin pregnancy. Stumbling across Kirsti felt like fate to me, a breath of fresh air to find someone who empathised with my desire for a natural, non-medicalised birth, preferably at home.
She understood how strongly I felt about this, and was excited, intrigued and open to the idea. Kirsti felt like such a good fit for me, her passion and enthusiasm shone through, and I came home feeling hopeful rather than defeated.
Kirsti was highly professional throughout my care, treating me like a person and not a statistic. She had complete respect for my wishes, and was genuinely interested in my views. It was clear that Kirsti was highly skilled and knowledgeable, answering my multitude of questions in expert detail.
Kirsti absolutely went above and beyond to accommodate me, even accompanying me to meetings with doctors where I disputed the need for consultant led care and medical interventions. She could not have been more supportive!
Kirsti enabled me to have the closest thing to the natural home birth I so desperately wanted, and I am so grateful to her for her dedication and support during my pregnancy and birth. Kirsti absolutely puts her heart, soul and all of her being into her vocation. She is honestly the only midwife I would recommend.
